God’s children were awalkin’ through a barren land.
For forty years they journeyed through the desert sand.
They got a little thirsty & complained a lot.
But Moses brought ’em water when he smote the rock.
Chorus
Why don’t you lead me to the highest rock.
Kneel down & cleave a hollow spot.
Let me drink form that water pot.
Why don’t you lead me to the highest rock.

Our Savior was a-dyin’ back on Calvary.
The soldiers fastened Jesus to a rugged tree.
God sent forth a river in a swelling tide.
When the soldiers took a spear & smote our Savior’s side.
