A Bridge You Cannot Burn

Previously recorded by Poet Voices.

Written by Phil Cross

With only three nails and two pieces of wood
With a rugged cross Jesus made a way
Jesus built a bridge the only way He could
So we could live in Glory land someday
The Father’s hand of grace touched the earth below
On the hill called Calvary that day
There He left His love for every mortal soul
It still is here and never goes away
Remember when you were so close to the Lord
Now you have fallen far away
You think for what you’ve done the Father shut the door
Yet He is there with open arms today
Jesus built a bridge you cannot burn
No matter where you are you can return
To the Father’s house today there is always a way
Jesus built a bridge you cannot burn
