He Took the Grave Clothes

Previously recorded by the Perry Sisters.

Written by Diana Perry Gillette

VERSE 1
There was once a man called Lazarus
He was stricken and soon would die
Jesus heard, and said it’s not unto death
But the Son must be glorified
Martha met the Master
He said, Martha, your brother will rise
He went to the grave and He cried out his name
Lazarus came out alive

CHORUS 1
Take the grave clothes from him Jesus said unto them
Take the grave clothes from him and let him live again
I am the Resurrection and I am the Life
In me just only believe
Take the grave clothes from him
Loose him and let him go free

VERSE 2
I was once like that man Lazarus
Sin had bound me in a tomb
It was dark and I was all alone
In a place that was filled with gloom
Then I met with the Master
I heard Jesus, He called out my name
Then He clothed me in all of His righteousness
And I’ve never been the same

CHORUS 2
He took the grave clothes from me I was dying in my sin
He took the grave clothes from me and let me live again
He is the resurrection and He is the life
In Him I only believed
He took the grave clothes from me
He loosed me and let me go free

TAG
He took the grave clothes from me
He loosed me and let me go free
