In the Valley

Written by Diana Perry Gillette

If there were only mountains with no valleys below
My faith would not be tested, I’d have no place to grow
When high upon a mountain I can live so easily
But in the lowest valley He speaks peace to me

In the valley He leads me beside still waters
In the valley He restoreth my soul
When I’m walking through the valley, I can feel His guiding hand
Yes, it’s the valley where He gives me strength to stand

If there were only good times with no heartache or pain
I’d never have a trial and I might forget to pray
It’s then I learn to lean on a friend that’s tried and true
I found Him in the valley, He found me there too
