You Are the Potter

Previously recorded by the Perry Sisters.

Written by Diana Perry Gillette

Skillful hands of a potter take up a lump of clay
And shape it and mold it for display
As the clay is in the potter’s hand, in Your hand so are we
Take this vessel that is willing and do a work in me

You are the Potter and I am the clay
Mold me and make me in the likeness of Your way
I am Your servant and willing to obey
You’re the Potter, so use me, Lord, I pray

Should you find an imperfection don’t throw the clay away
Start over and shape me every day
For this clay will never be perfect to those who will not see
That the Master’s still not finished with His work in me

You’re the Potter, so use me, Lord, I pray
