Where You Could Be

Written by Angie Klinker

Right from the beginning

she was left out on the street

She had to find her way in life

without friends or family.

Only God knows what she’s had to do

just to survive

And everyone who sees her

quickly passes by.

But if you walked in her shoes

just for one short mile

You’d see her loneliness

you’d lose your smile

If you could look through her eyes

You’d see things you’ve never seen

You would see things differently

You’d see where you could be

Do you ever sit and shake your head

when you see someone fail

Are you there to lift them up again

or let them help themselves

It sure feels different when

the table’s turned around

It’s funny how you never hurt

till you’re the one who’s fallen down
