Love Took His Breath Away

Through a road of suffering

He blazed a trail of grace.

Love paved the way to Calvary

And the agony He faced.

And as He hung on that cruel tree.

Everyone could see.

It was Love that took His breath away.

Love took His breath away.

On Calvary’s cross that day.

The sword in His side

Could not take His life.

It was Love…

Love that took His breath away.

His parched and broken body

Thirsted for the souls of men.

And the hands that carried the wounds,

Carried away our sins.

And when His bitter cup was through

He had the scars to prove.

It was Love that took His breath away.

And when I think of Love’s Sacrifice

So I could have eternal life

His love takes my breath away.
