It Must Be Love

in the corner of the altar, there’s a cross
and a crown like they placed on Jesus head
a reminder of the torment and the cost
that he paid for my salvation as he hung there in my stead

yes the cost of my salvation it was high
the creator of creation sent his only Son to die
for a wicked sinful wretch such as I
tell me why please tell me why

it must be love, must be love
that placed my savior on that tree
must be love, must be love
that held him there for you and me

and to think that I’m forgiven
for the nails that I have driven
must be love must be love

though my worth is really small
the creator of it all
cared enough that he would send his Son

and the pain that he was dealt
is the pain I should have felt
for the wicked sinful things
that I have done

how could it be
that he would suffer this for me

it must be love, must be love
that placed my saviour on that tree
must be love, must be love
that held him there for you and me

and to think that I’m forgiven
for the nails that I have driven
must be love ,must be love

yes this cross is just a symbol
of the cross that Jesus knew
a reminder of the pain and shame
for me that he went through

It must be love, must be love
that placed my saviour on that tree
must be love must be love
that held him there for you and me

and to think that I’m forgiven
for the nails that I have driven
must be love must be love
must be love must be love
