Hope Waited In The Dark

For three long days

Jesus lay lifeless

In a cold dark grave

A foggy gloom

Filled the room

That held Him captive in a tomb

Until His Father cried,

“Arise! Arise! Arise!”

In a Jerusalem graveyard hope waited in the dark

When Heaven’s breath conquered death

For every heart that’s battered and scarred Hope waited in the dark

Wthout a word

God shook the earth

The stone rolled away

Breaking since curse

Death had to go

Jesus arose

Paving the way

So we could know

He is walking by our side

Alive! Alive! Alive!

When storm clouds arise

And take us by surprise

Hope never dies
