It Takes A Woman

It Took A Woman

(written by Ray Scarbrough) Chris White Music / BMI

1st verse

Who am I to question

the wisdom of my God,

for choosing valiant men

worthy of applause?

Heros, men of valor,

men of virtue strong & true;

Shepherd boy’s to general’s,

barbarian’s & jews?

But have you ever wondered

where any man would be

without a Godly woman

pray’n on her knees?

Chorus

It took a woman just like Sarah,

who even in old age

was a mother to a nation

while Abraham took center stage.

A Woman waded out in bullrush

to save the child that God would choose

to save Israel’s children

from every scourge & every bruise.

And in a backyard stable

a virgin bore a Son.

To bring God down to man,

it took a woman.

2nd

There’s a single mama liv’n

in the hills of Tennessee,

wip’n noses, pay’n bills

cuz Dad’s an absentee.

But every Sunday morn’n

She wakes her little baby boys

& takes them on to church

cuz that’s the family she enjoys.

Have you ever wondered

where any man would be

without a Godly woman

pray’n on her knees?
