What He Didn’t Say

Written by RC Hodges

Verse 1
Accused of adultery, guilty as sin, caught in the act with no hope of defense,
Alone she confronted her judgment on that day
They tried to test Him, but He did not give in,
Instead He chose simply to ignore all those men,
And when He turned their words back on them, they all walked away
lt wasn’t only what He said, but what He didn’t say

Chorus 1
He didn’t make them feel small, and He did not condemn,
He didn’t follow the crowd, or try to fit in
His love and compassion said more than any words could ever say
His selfless reaction left them all amazed
Not just by what He said, but what He didn’t say

Verse 2
Brought before Pilate. accused by the Jews. stripped of His dignity, beaten and bruised
Alone He confronted His judgment on that day
lt was so ironic, God’s innocent lamb, convicted and sentenced by a court of evil men.
And when it was over, they led Him away
It wasn’t only what He said, but what He didn’t say

Chorus 2
He didn’t make them feel small, and He did not condemn,
Mocked by His foes and betrayed by His friends
His resolute silence said more than any words could ever say
His selfless reaction left them all amazed
Not just by what He said, but what He didn’t say

Verse 3
There on Golgotha. nailed to a tree
God’s only Son crucified with two thieves.
Alone and rejected, He faced our judgment on that day
These few words of mercy were His mission of truth.
“Father forgive them for they know not what to do”
And with His dying request, He washed our sins away
It wasn’t only what He said, but what He didn’t say

Chorus 3
He didn’t make them feel small and He did not condemn,
In humility He paid the price for our sins
His love and compassion, said more than any words could ever say
His selfless reaction left the world amazed
Not just by what He said, but what He didn’t say
His selfless reaction showed us all the way
Not just by what He said, but what He didn’t say
