Break the Bread

Written by Ray Scarbrough

Jesus & the twelve together
gathered in an upper chamber.
He took the cup & then the bread.
Blessed it all & then he said.

Pour the wine,
break the bread.
God’s Son must die/God’s Son must die
Blood must be shed/His blood was shed.
Your king must wear/Our king wore
thorns on his head.
Pour the wine
& break the bread.

Won’t you come, all who are able.
Take your seat now at his table.
At Calvary there is a spread,
Of precious wine, and broken bread.
