Written by Ray Scarbrough
Oh I’ve willfully committed
deeds of which I am to blame.
I’ve imposed upon the Lord
contempt & open shame.
I bring upon myself a stumbling pace.
Yet it always seems I stumble toward his grace.
Perhaps before the day is done
I’ll let him down again.
The sands & stars number my wrongs
I cannot count my sins.
He answers all my crimes without anger or regret.
Though I fail him many times.
He’s never failed me yet.
Oh I’ve known the woes of Achan
& deserved to die the same.
I‘ve committed tasteless scorn
& sought to bury my disdain.
Although I hide my failures foolishly.
He cannot hide the love he has for me.
