He Started Writing My Song

He Started Writing My Song

(Written by Ray Scarbrough)

Come a little closer

Sisters & my brothers

Listen what the Lord has done

Our father took a nail

& dipped it in the well

Filled with the blood of his Son

The composer took my garment

& used it as a parchment

& jotted down a melody.

Included was my name

In this heavenly refrain

And it sings how he loves me.

He started writing my song

when He saved my soul

He penned his love

He’s my heart’s maestro.

O Calvary!

What a crescendo!

He started writing my song

when Syse He saved my soul.

What a joyful noise!

I love to hear his voice

as it echoes thru my heart within.

I’m enamored. I’m immersed

in the Savior of my verse;

written with the author’s pen.

Fascinated, I’m enthralled.

I just want to read it all.

And he beckons me to sing along.

What a melody!

He & I make harmony.

He’s the writer of my song.
