Vs. 1
The church-bells were ringing as the choir started singing-
Excitement could be felt in the air.
Hands were upraising for the Saints were praising-
The Savior, who had answered their prayer.
An ‘ole sinner had been saved by God’s amazing grace-
A life, so broken, was restored.
There were smiles and happy tears; hallelujahs and some cheers-
For a child of God had just been re-born.
Cho.
Oh, would someone go summon the angels?
Another lost soul has been found.
A sinner, so weary from searching;
Has been rescued and is now Heaven-bound.
Let Heaven and earth, rejoice at the birth-
Of a soul that Christ died to save.
Would someone go summon the angels?
It’s time to celebrate.
Vs. 2
I could never forget the time I took a trip-
To an old-fashioned altar of prayer.
My burdens were heavy and I was so ready-
To lay them down and leave my sins there.
Oh, and I believe that when I received-
Free pardon from all guilt and my shame.
The news reached Heaven that I’d been forgiven-
And, in the Book of Life, was written my name.

Let’s join the singing;
With the choir of angels.
For there’s great joy when a soul is redeemed-
In the presence of the ransomed and free!
